Cheick Kongo takes the victory with a unanimous decision against Mirko Cro Crop.  Cheick did an amazing job taking on Mirko.  He constantly put pressure on Mirko and had him backing up for a large part of the fight.  Joe Rogan mentioned that this was very effective for Fedor’s victory over Mirko as well.  Cheick has proven himself to be an up and coming fighter.  Mirko… hopefully he’ll get his mojo back after two devastating losses.

Coming off a shocking loss and ankle injury against Gabriel Gonzaga, Mirko Cro Cop is ready to take on Chieck Kongo at UFC 75. He see Chieck as being a good stand up fighter, he’s agressive, not afraid to exchange punches. However, Mirko CC is ready, he’s ready to take on anyone he says. There’s not special mental process he says, either “you’re a fighter or your’re not.”

I’m looking forward to the UFC 75 event. Not only does it have a good fight card including Quinton Rampage Jackson vs. Dan Henderson, Matt Hamill vs. Michael Bisping, Houston Alexander vs. Alessio Sakara and Mirko Cro Cop vs Chieck Kongo, but it’s all for free on Spike TV! The UK UFC website just announced that the weigh ins for UFC 75 will take place at the O2 Arena, London at 09/07/2007 4pm BST (10pm EST). The event will be free and open to the public. The fighters will take the scale at 4pm BST. If you’re from or will be in the UK, you can visit the event at :

According to his myspace page, Cheick Kongo is apparently in search of an American Family that he met at the UFC 62 Event at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.  If anyone happens to know any information about this family, please reach out to Cheick via his myspace page.  I do not know the significance of this search, but let’s help out our friend Cheick.

Cheick “The French Sensation” Kongo

France’s Cheick Kongo is another up and coming UFC fighter. In the past, he fought in Holland, and more recently he has fought his past 4 fights in the UFC – winning 3 of the 4, he lost to Carmelo Marrero.

Cheick is one of those fighters that when you see him, you’ll remember him – he’s huge! His striking skills are outstanding, and his presence is known when entering the ring. Cheick stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and fights at 230 pounds and is shredded. Cheick Kongo is set to fight Croatian Mirko Cro Cop in UFC 75. Check out this highlight video to see what Mirko is up against. Should be a great fight between two great strikers.
