Kimbo Slice Ready for the UFC? Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott Fight Results

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

Last night Showtime premiered the fight that we were all looking forward to, Kimbo Slice facing off with UFC legend Tank Abbott at EliteXC’s Street Certified Event. Here’s what happened, Kimbo and Tank came out and exchanged a few punches, Tank then locked up with Kimbo and put him up against the cage, Kimbo pushed off the cage and the two began to exchange punches again, Kimbo caught Tank with a left, hurting him. Tank feel forward a bit and Kimbo Capitalized with a round of uppercuts, Tank feel to the mat and held on to Kimbo’s leg while Kimbo unleashed punches standing up. Everything happened so quickly, in a matter of less a minute and a half the fight was over and Kimbo has once again proved himself. Dana, let’s start looking into getting this guy up against some real competition?

By the way, the videos have made it to all of the popular video sharing sites already… quality sucks though.

The event is scheduled to air on Showtime cable at 10:00PM ET. In addition to Kimbo and Tank being the main event, Gina Carano will fight an unannounced fighter, Kyle Noke will take on hard hitting The Ultimate Fighter Television show star Scott Smith (remember, the guy who dropped Pete sell after taking a hard hit to the abs?). Tank Abbott Vs. Kimbo Slice to Fight at Corpus Christi on November 10th?

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Still no word on the Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott fight that was suppose to occur last month, October 12th at Cage Fury Fighting Championship, but was canceled.  It was rumored that possibly EliteXC would pick up the card within 2 weeks.  However, this didn’t happen.  EliteXC then signed a multi-year contract with the King of the Streets, Kimbo.  Since then, it’s been announced that Kimbo will fight at Corpus Christi on November 10th 2007 at the American Bank Center.  However, EliteXC is unable to announce who else is on the card, until the contracts are finalized.  Could Tank Abbott possible fight Kimbo on November 10th at EliteXC?  Time will tell….

Are you for real? Kimbo versus Tank Abbott Fight Cancelled!

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

The Cage Fury Fighting Championship website currently has a note on it’s front page from Felix Martinez, President of Cage Fury Fighting Championship, regretfully announced that the Cage Fury October 12th (CFCC 6) event has been canceled due to a major investor pulling out.  For those of you who aren’t aware, the main event of the evening was planned to be Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott.  We were all looking forward to this event, hopefully another fight organization can somehow pick up the card.  It is rumored that one group which goes unnamed should secure the fight in the next two weeks, however, EliteXC and the Palace Fighting Championship are also negotiating for the fight.
