Holy crap! Jack Osbourne is training for periods in excess of 6 weeks at Fairtex in Bangplee? Are you serious? Well, he apparently wins a Muay Thai fight too!
As you may know, Hollywood is releasing a new MMA movie titled “Never Back Down“. The movie features a variety of MMA disciplines including Muay Thai, BJJ, Boxing, etc. The following video shows the actors training and complaining about how difficult the training for the movie is. Although they all stated that it was tough, they seemed to have enjoyed it. Check out the trailer / video.

For our 1st weekly (hopefully weekly) MMA Fight Girls “MMA Gear Friday”, TUFF Boxing / Muay Thai Stuff was awesome enough to send us a Muay Thai T-Shirt and Tank Top all the way from Bangkok Thailand! I want to give a big thanks to TUFF and Muay Thai Stuff for their love and support. On to my story…
Excited as all hell I picked up the TUFF package the other day at the post office. Upon opening the package, my first thought was… “top notch”. TUFF packages each of their T-shirts in a unique black and clear muay thai illustration package (pictured below, but the picture doesn’t do it any justice), along with a TUFF Boxing catalog.
The packages each have their own unique illustration printed on them and are quite classy. In addition to the packages, the shipment came with a TUFF Boxing catalog that only made me drool over all of the additionally awesome designs TUFF has. Like the packaging, the catalog is of high quality - good print / stock. Not that the quality of the package or catalog matters much to most people, but it does say a lot about the quality and attention to detail that a company gives… which could only reflect on the quality of product, right? For sure. If you’re putting that much time and quality into a package, you must have one get quality product… which is true about the T-Shirts.
Upon pulling the T-Shirt and Tank Top out of their packages, I was very happy with the quality of the shirts - the shirts are well made and soft - but not thin. The prints are vivid and tough - meaning that it should last a ton of machine washes, and the designs… what else can I say… the designs don’t get any better. I love all of the TUFF Boxing illustrations, don’t you?

Here’s a pretty cool video posted to YouTube of a singled out motion breakdown of a muay thai fighter. The video singles out the entire background, and is nothing more than a computer animated video of a muay thai fighter practicing moves. For those of you who are into Muay Thai fighting, you’ll appreciate and respect this video as you can focus in on form of each attack. Check it out, maybe even study it as I did - it’s well worth the watch.
A new MMA / High School movie is about to hit the scene this March, Never Back Down. Every high school movie, combined with Stomp the Yard and some MMA Flavor, is Never Back Down, a story of Jake Taylor, a kid who’s the new kid on the block and continuing to get involved in street fights. After being invited to a party, Jake catches a butt whipping from a bully who knows MMA (Cam Gigandet). After discovering the sport of MMA, Jake behinds to train to find revenge. He begins to learn MMA from Jean Roqua (Djimon Honsou) and learns some of the finer arts including Muay Thai and BJJ.
Reviews are mixed with emotion right now, some people say it’s a thrilling video, other’s say its a joke. You decide in March 2008 when the movie hits theaters.

Kombat Gear now offers a flash based customizable interface to allow customer to design their own Muay Thai Shorts, K-1 Trunks and Boxing Trunks. You can select from a variety of 60 Short styles and designs. You can select your own colors for each panel of the short for a particular design. After selecting colors and a style, you can add a Large Graphic or several small Graphics to the shorts. The selection of graphics aren’t great / traditional… however, you might be into it. You can also add your own customized text to the back of the shorts. Finally, you can select the poo style (borders / flames from the bottom).
Customized Muay Thai Shorts will run you about $65.00 after tax… Not entirely cheap, but damn cool to have your own design.
