Randy Couture met with Dana White this past Wednesday. Among the topics discussed was a fight between Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 81. According to Tom Hamlin of Yahoo, Couture turned down the offer.  Now, remember, we don’t know the terms of the proposed fight and we don’t know his reasoning for turning down the fight.  Couture suggested that he wants some time to with his newly wed wife, to travel and enjoy his home;

“I want to take some time and go on a vacation, spend some time with my wife. We’ve been married a year now and we’ve been together very, very little in that year; it’s been crazy. It’s been difficult on us. I’ve got a nice house and I don’t even get to spend any time in it hardly, so take a little time now and just smell the roses so to speak.”

For now it looks like Tim Sylvia will be facing off with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira for a heavyweight championship belt.  After beating Brandon Vera, Syliva has earned the contender position for the heavyweight belt.  And for Couture… he is still set on an opportunity to fight Fedor…

Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Fighter Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is known as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist.  He has 35 fights, with 30 of them being wins, 4 losses, and one draw.  Nogueira has predominately been fighting in Pride and Rings – King of Kings.  Recently he made his UFC debut at UFC 73 Stacked, when he faced off with Heath Herring and won via decision.  In addition to fighting Heath Herring, Antonio Nogueira has faced off with Fedor Emelianenko, Josh Barnett, Dan Henderson, Mark Coleman, Bob Sap, Jeremy Horn, among others.  After all of this talk about Nog, why don’t you see what he’s all about in this Highlight Video Created by “Fierce Animal”.
