One Step Closer a Rampage vs Rashad Evans

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Although people on the forums are saying that a fight between Quinton Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans has been confirmed, we’re only one step closer to that confirmation with recent news from fightline.com.  According to fightline.com, Dana White has stated that ” Jackson would likely face Rashad Evans for the UFC light heavyweight title”.  However, the when and the where are yet to be determined.  The match up would be a perfect opportunity for Rampage to regain the pride that he lost in July 2008 to Forrest Griffin.  Coupled with a recent win over Wanderlei Silva, defeating Rashad Evans, who recently made quick work of Griffin, would quickly put Rampage back on top of his career.  But for now, we have to wait for an official announcement.

Forrest Griffin Says Rashad Evans Has “People Don’t Get Up Right Away Knockouts” Video

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Forrest Griffin was recently interviewed regarding his upcoming UFC 92 fight against Rashad Evans.  Forrest stated that he thinks that Rashad is an under ranked fighter and has been forgotten about / flying under the radar for a while now.  Forrest additionally states that Rashad has more knock outs then himself and like “People Don’t Get Up Right Away Knockouts”, the most recent being Chuck Liddell.  Forrest also states that Rashad has fought a lot of good guys and has totally impressed Forrest.  Rashad has tremendous hand speed and has learned to use it.  Forrest plans to be prepared at all times because Rashad is capable of coming in with combinations at any time quickly.  If he happens to take Forrest down, he plans to just work his ass off against Rashad and go hard against him.

Rashad Evans Streamlined by Microsoft

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Microsoft is really putting a lot behind their Rashad Evans “I’m a PC” campaign.  Rashad was recently posted on the front page of youtube with the following Microsoft promotional and much scripted commercial.  Regardless, I’m glad MS see’s the value in MMA… I’m going to grab a copy of Vista now.

Bill Gates T-Shirt Lands Rashad Evans A Spot in The New Microsoft Windows Commercial

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Are you serious? First Rashad Evans wears a Bill Gates shirt at UFC 88. Well, not just any Bill Gates Shirt, the t-shirt of his young adult mug shot. Now why would Rashad do that? As the story goes, it’s simply an inside joke. At the time Bill Gates was arrested, Gates was arrested in Albuquerque, N.M., where Microsoft was headquartered at the time. The building where Microsoft was headquartered at the time is a building that stands next door to a famous MMA School in New Mexico… Greg Jackson’s MMA school.

Well, this inside joke turned into something much larger. Apparently someone at MS saw Rashad wearing the tee and now, Rashad Evans has made his way into the new Microsoft Windows commercial. The commercial is a spoof of the Mac commercial, “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC”. At the very end of the Microsoft Windows commercial, you hear, “I’m a PC” and Rashad Evans is submitting someone saying “Do you Have a Problem With That”. Pretty funny, yet amazing that an ultimate fighter has made his way into a Microsoft commercial. I’m glad to see the sport becoming more acceptable.

Rashad Evans Desktop Wallpaper Background by Fighter’s Only

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I think it’s time that Rashad Evans had his own desktop wallpaper.  After being Chuck Liddell in the fashion that he did, not only was the world shocked by his amazing KO, but by his Fred Sanford victory celebration as well.  So here’s to Rashad Evans, a desktop wallpaper made by the UK’s Fighter’s Only Magazine.

Rashad Evan’s Chuck Liddell Knockout Victory Celebration… Fred Sanford Heart Attack Style

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Oh man I’m laughing over this one… Iceberg Slim on Sherdog made an excellent comparison between Rashad Evan’s Victory celebration after Knocking out Chuck Liddell at UFC 88 and Fred Sanford’s fake hear attacks on the 70’s sitcom, Sanford and Sun.  Check out these two videos, great comparison, huh?  Damn, I can’t get over this… way too funny.

Hopefully the UFC is okay with us posting this clip of Rashad’s celebration…

Rashad Evans Knocks Chuck Liddell Out Cold… Plus UFC 88 Fight Results

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Wow, Rashad Evans knocks Chuck Liddell out cold at UFC 88, that is not what I was expecting to see. Evans entered the ring as the clear underdog in the fight, cool and collected. He began show boating before the fight even started, first by dancing to a little Immortal Technique and later DMX, finally getting himself ready for the fight with some twisting of his own nipples, don’t ask. The first round Rashad continued to move around the ring, never staying in one spot. He was extremely elusive, yet was able to land some good shots on Chuck Liddell, utilizing a continuous switch stance. At the end of the first, Rashad looked more and more confident, while Chuck seemed a bit frustrated with Rashad’s elusiveness and the mouse over his eye. The second round the two exchanged a series of punches and Rashad was clearly becoming more and more confident. His confidence showed as Chuck threw an upper cut at the same time Rashad threw a huge overhand right catching Liddell and sending him straight to the mat, knees buckling and all. Damn, props to Rashad.

And for the UFC 88 Fight Results:

  • Rashad Evans drops Chuck Liddell via KO - Round 2, 1:51
  • Rich Franklin drops Matt Hamill with a kick to his midsection - Round 3, 0:39
  • Dan Henderson def. Rousimar Palhares via unanimous decision, Henderson was very elusive to Palhares’ BJJ
  • Nate Marquardt threw a barrage of punches and defeated Martin Kampmann via TKO - Round 1, 1:22
  • Dong Hyun Kim def. Matt Brown via split decision
  • Kurt Pellegrino def. Thiago Tavares via unanimous decisio
  • Tim Boetsch def. Mike Matt via TKO - Round 1, 2:03 - Tim has had two exciting fights in the Octagon thus far, look out.
  • Jason MacDonald def. Jason Lambert via submission (rear naked choke) - Round 2, 1:20
  • Ryo Chonan def. Roan Carneiro via split decision
