“Brawl For It All” is Actually “Not Much of a Brawl At All”… Or Something Like That

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

It was recently announced that “Brawl For It All” would feature a number of big names in the MMA industry including Nick Diaz, Jeff Monson and Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Son Leland Chapman. In fact, the card is nothing like that… After a number of complaints by fighters who have been rumored to be on the card, the California State Athletic Commission has released official card and has required “Brawl For It All” to refund any tickets that were purchased under a misconception. And the official card….

What’s Up With Fighters and Staph Infection?

Monday, September 24th, 2007

During Saturday night’s UFC 76 event, Joe Rogan discussed Diego Sanchez’s last fight against Josh Koscheck. Rogan stated that Diego was in a weakened state during that fight, due to a now known staph infection that he had. I’m now finding out that Nick Diaz additionally has a stap infection. After his EliteXC fight in Hawaii, he went back to Vegas and had to check into the hospital immediately. For those of you unfamiliar with staph infection, here’s a little wikki education about staph -

“Staphylococcus aureus is the most common cause of staph infections, is a spherical bacterium, frequently living on the skin or in the nose of a person, that can cause a range of illnesses from minor skin infections, such as pimples, impetigo, boils, cellulitis and abscesses, to life-threatening diseases, such as pneumonia, meningitis, endocarditis, Toxic shock syndrome (TSS), and septicemia.”Source Wiki

How Do You Get Staph Infections?

“Spread of S. aureus (including MRSA) is through human-to-human contact, with environmental contamination thought to play a relatively unimportant part. Emphasis on basic hand washing techniques are therefore effective in preventing the transmission of S. aureus.” Source Wiki

On a side note, you can get staph from dirty towels and such..

“I felt pretty crappy in my match in Hawaii but I figured it was jet lag or maybe something I had eaten the night before. When I left Hawaii the next day I was getting chills and had to be covered with several blankets on the plane but I just kept having cold sweats. By the time I got to Vegas the infection had ballooned up and so I went to the hospital to have it checked out. They admitted me and I’ve been here ever since”. – Source GracieFighter.com

Junior Assuncao Versus Nate Diaz Ultimate Fight Night Match

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

The fight was much of a grappling chess match. Scrappy Nate Diaz was the aggressor of the exchanges, while Junior Assuncao spent much of his time trying to counter Nate’s attempts. After battling back and forth on the ground, both men get to their feet and Nate throws a flurry of punches rocking and stunning Junior. Nate then goes to the ground with Junior and finishes him with a Guillotine Choke in the first.

True Reason Why Nick Diaz Couldn’t Corner his Brother!

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

So, we all heard Nate Diaz’s post TUF finale comment about his brother Nick Diaz not receiving respect from the UFC.. Well for those of you who are aware of what happened, Nick tested positive for marijuana and was forbidden from cornering Nate Diaz, here’s a quote from ufctakedown:

“Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana after his smokin victory over Takanori Gomi at PRIDE 33. His win was overturned and Diaz was suspended for 6 months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).”

Anyway… this is the reason given.. But we at ufcgirls.com know the real reason and can provide proof, view the pic below for the answer.
