A future in the UFC for Kimbo?

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

According to the Fight Network, who recently interviewed Dana White on the Sean Sherk controversy, Dana commented on Kimbo Slice’s recent fight against Bo Cantrell. Although he didn’t see the actual fight on Saturday, he did comment on Kimbo. Will there be a future in the UFC for Kimbo? It has yet to be addressed publicly, hopefully Kimbo will work his way up. Here’s the excerpt from the Fight Network:

White said he did not watch the MMA debut of Internet street fighting legend Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson on Nov. 10 in Corpus Christi, Texas. “The guy is a tough street fighter,” White said. “I don’t know much about him. He’s a street fighter, and he’s making the switch to MMA. Who knows what could happen to a guy like that.” Ferguson needed just 19 seconds to dispatch former Gladiator Challenge heavyweight champion Bo Cantrell by TKO.

Here’s the video from EliteXC Renegade of Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson taking on Bo Cantrell. Bo comes out throwing a jab and a spinning backfist, Kimbo moves out of the way and continues feeling out Bo, Kimbo backs Bo up against the cage delivers a jab, uppercut and quickly finishes Bo with a solid elbow knocking him out. The first lasts all of 19 seconds. Kimbo’s no joke and combining him with Bas Rutten, this guy is going to be amazing!
