Horrible news, it was announced yesterday that Houston Texas MMA Fighter Sam Vasquez passed away weeks after being injured at Renegades Extreme Fighting in Texas’ Toyota Center. According to the report, Vasquez was knocked out in the third round of his bout with Vince Libardi. Sam lost consciousness and began to seizure. According to Sherdog.com, after “enduring separate surgeries to remove blood clots from his brain as well as a massive stroke” Sam was discharged from the St. Joseph Medical Center intensive care and later transferred to Hospice. According to the fight sanctioning committee, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, “To date, the evaluation shows that this event was conducted in compliance with all procedures”.
