UFC 91: Amir Sadollah No Longer Fighting Due to Leg Infection
Tuesday, November 11th, 2008According to the UFC, “A leg infection has forced The Ultimate Fighter season seven winner Amir Sadollah to withdraw from his UFC 91 bout against Nick Catone this Saturday.” Unfortunately the UFC was unable to find a replacement to fight against Nick Catone for the event and as a result, the undercard event Dustin Hazelett vs Tamdan McCrory will be pushed up and aired live on PPV. So the UFC 91 Brock Lesnar vs Randy Couture card stands as follows:
- Randy Couture vs Brock Lesnar
- Kenny Florian vs Joe Stevenson
- Gabriel Gonzaga vs Josh Hendricks
- Demian Maia vs Nate Quarry
- Dustin Hazelett vs Tamdan McCrory
- Jorge Gurgel vs Aaron Riley
- Jeremy Stephens vs Rafael dos Anjos
- Mark Bocek vs Alvin Robinson
- Matt Brown vs Ryan Thomas
So the fight that everyone’s interested in… without a doubt Brock Lesnar vs Randy Couture. I think this is going to be an outstanding fight with a lot of different elements that come into play. Brock physically is so much larger than Randy that regardless of MMA skills, I think Brock has the advantage standing up. So, naturally you would expect Randy to take it to the ground. But do you really want to be on the ground with a NCAA wrestling Champ who weighs 270lb? I mean, Randy’s an 3 NCAA All American, you can’t discredit him from that, but weight is a huge factor. So, that leaves him with the grappling game and some dirty boxing in my opinion.
