Last week Randy Couture and Brandon Vera faced off at UFC 105. After three rounds of battling, Couture took home the W via decision. Tonight the wives/ex-wives of these fighters, Kim Couture and Kerry Vera will both go toe to toe together in the cage of Strikeforce Challengers. Check out how these girls sized up at their weigh ins for the fight.
While Randy Couture and Brandon Vera face off at UFC 105 on November 14th in Manchester England, Kim Couture and Kerry Vera, the wifes of the UFC 105 fighters, will be facing off just a few days after at the Strikeforce Challenge. Kerry, who has traditionally been a muay thai kickboxer, best known for her role on “Fight Girls”, has recently entered the MMA world via her first professional fight at Bellator Fighting Championships versus Leslie Smith. After three rounds of brawling, Kerry took home the victory via decision. Kim has slightly more professional experience training at Xtreme Couture with Gina Carano and also have two pro fights under her belt. He first fight vs Kim Rose tested the heart of Couture, ended after three rounds. Couture went home with a loss and a jaw that had been broken in two locations. The test showed that Kim has the heart of a warrior as she returned 5 months later to defeat Lina Kvokov in the first round of their fight at Strikeforce. Both fighters have a lot of heart and have something to prove. Look forward to an awesome battle between these two names in MMA.
Kerry Vera vs Leslie Smith
Chuck Liddell had his UFC 85 Afterparty in London this past weekend and Combat Lifestyle was there to shoot some pics. Among those attending the party were Brandon Vera and wife / fight girl Kerry Vera. Additionally attending the celebration was Edith Labelle wearing more clothes than we thought she owned.
Kerry Vera will soon battle it out with UK Muay Thai fighter Julie Kitchen on November 17th at Lorne Castles, Battle in Bournmouth. The fight is going to be 5 rounds 3 minutes each round. Julie Kitchen is currently a big name in female MMA. To see what she’s all about, check out this fight between Julie and Karen Lynch, it’s an all out battle.
This is cool, kkryptyk from youtube took all of the Fight Girl Phucket championship videos highlights and put them together to make on nice highlight video. All of the Fight Girl finalists (Miriam Nakamoto, Ardra Hernandez, Dawn Boyd, Felice Herrig and Kerry Vera) are in this Highlight Video, plus Gina Carano throwing some crazy knees and an amazing spinning back fist!
Fight Girl Kerry Vera comes out strong throwing a barrage of punches and kicks, she locks up with her opponent to exchange some knees as her husband and professional fighter Brandon Vera cheers from the crowd. Kerry Vera throws a number of solid uppercuts and ends the fight with a huge Knock Out Kick to her opponents head! The crowd goes crazy, it’s a huge victory for her and her husband!
