Would you pay $2,000 for Used UFC Shorts?
Friday, September 28th, 2007Would you be willing to pay almost $2,000 for a pair of Used UFC Shorts? Maybe if they were Randy Couture’s from his recent championship fight against Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 74. Or maybe if they helped a good cause? Someone by the name of Pride.K1 bid $1,925 for Randy’s shorts on ebay… and it all went to a good cause. The shorts were being sold by The Ryan Bennett Memorial Fund.
For those of you who are not familiar with Ryan Bennett, or his story, Ryan Bennett was a sports broadcaster, mixed martial artists enthusiast and one of the founders of MMAWeekly.com. “On May 31, 2006, Ryan and his entire family were in a car accident in Fillmore, Utah. Ryan was killed, Tonya seriously injured. Two of Ryan’s four children were injured as well. Tonya, Ashley, Allison, Jada and Braden will all recover from their injuries, but moving on and living life without Ryan will be a different story.” The Ryan Bennett Memorial Fund was set up to help support Ryan Bennett’s family. For those of you who are interested in contributing, simply buying a piece of mma history on ebay, or making a donation to the Fund on the Ryan Bennett website can greatly help.
A number of other things were sold and donated to this charity, including signed Kenny Florian Gloves.
