UFC 81 Xtreme Couture confirmes Tyson Griffin vs Gleison Tibau

Wow, these UFC fight announcements are coming out like crazy! According to the Fight Network, Xtreme Couture confirmed that Tyson Griffin will match up with Gleison Tibau at UFC 80. Gleison Tibau is a 15 and 4 fighter, with experience four times in the UFC Octagon.  He has faced off with Terry Etim, Jeff Cox, Jason Dent and Nick Diaz at UFC events.  Tyson Griffin has 10 wins and 1 loss.  He additionally has 4 UFC bouts.  He has fought against Thiago Tavares, Clay Guida, Frank Edgar and David Lee.  Of those 4 fights, he has taken three to a decision (2 wins in decision, 1 loss) and finished one in the first round.

UFC 76 Fight of the Night and Submission Winners and Keith Jardine Interview

In a post UFC 76 fight press conference, Dana White announced the winners of the best “Knock Out and Submission” and best “Fight of the Night”. The fight of the night went to Tyson Griffin and the winner of the “Knock Out and Submission” of the night went to Forrest Griffin. Both of these fighters fought great fights. It’s amazing how exciting the UFC is getting these days… It is additionally amazing how well many of former “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show contestants are doing. Speaking of which, what about Keith Jardine?

Keith Jardine’s performance against Chuck Liddell was impressive. I have to admit, I thought Chuck was out of Keith’s league, man was I wrong. Check out this post fight Sherdog interview with Keith Jardine to hear Keith’s take on the fight.

Urijah Faber’s Only Fight Loss Video to Tyson Griffin

Urijah Faber has an almost perfect record of 19 wins and 1 loss. His only loss being to Tyson Griffin at Gladiator Challenge 42 Summer Slam.  Tyson really dominates Urijah during this bout, ending in the third round with Herb Dean pulling Tyson off Urijah after a big shot that brings him to the mat.  Check out the video of Tyson Griffin vs. Urijah Faber:


A New Jersey Native Added to UFC 78 in Newark NJ

New Jersey native Frankie Edgar is set to taken on Spencer Fisher at UFC 78 in Newark NJ. Frank Edgar has an undefeated 7 win record. He entered the UFC about in February of 2007 (UFC 67) and has fought one more fight with the UFC since (UFC 73). Edgar has defeated Tyson Griffin, and Mark Bocek. In addition to fighting in the UFC, Spencer has fought in Reality Fighting Championships, Ring of Combat, and Sportfighting. His fight against Mark Bocek can be seen below:

UFC 76 Knockout Fight Card and Fight Rumors

The UFC 76 will take place Saturday September 22nd Live on Pay Per View at 10PM EST.  The Fight Card looks exciting but a bit one sided.  Chuck Liddell to take on Keith Jardine – I don’t know about this one… I have a hard time seeing Keith last past the 1st round, but who knows, he surprised me against Forrest (no comparison to Chuck, but still).  And Shogun vs. Forrest.. I’m sorry Forrest, this is going to be your toughest fight.
