“Oh Brent Hatley Body Slam!” – Bubba the Lovesponge’s Brent Hatley had his first MMA fight this past weekend. The results have varied among posters at the Stern Fan Network, but the most credible of posts states that Brent lost in the first round via a shin to the head. We won’t know for sure if the statement below is true until tomorrow’s BTLS show, however, here’s what the poster by the name of jai7123 stated:

“Brent lost by TKO in the first round. I saw it, I sat in the center on the 3rd row on the bleachers with my son (in front of concession stand).
Brent’s match was the second last of the night. His opponent was probably 10 years younger and a foot or more higher. Having that reach and speed was too much.
All fighters had shin pads, gloves and headgear. One ref worked all the matches and some lady was the announcer. probably from Brent’s club. The guy in charge of Brent’s club was running the show and they all did a good job.
THE MATCH
They came out at the bell and touched gloves, Brent did not have any offense per se and was kind of feeling things out, crouching kind of. Didn’t throw a kick. They mixed it up with punches in the middle of the ring for about a minute then over a bit to the far neutral corner and move ed towards the near neutral corner (where the stairs were)
Then out of nowhere the opponent cracked Brent across the face with a shin.
Brent went down, got up for what looked like was going to be a standing 8 count.
When Brent got up, he staggered kind of to the right and looked dazed in the neutral corner, the referee called it just like that. Brent was more stunned for a moment than hurt.
Brent was a good sport and congratulated his opponent. He did not look hurt.
Bubba was there with a Packer shirt on (not Farve) and a yellow ballcap. He had reserved seats (metal chairs) and there was a whole row of Bubba, Heather who looked beautiful, her daughter and Tyler with a Peyton Manning shirt on (some others I did not recognize in the VIP row). Bubba and Heather were very cool and nice to anyone that shook hands or said hello. They looked like a class act and a fine family. Bubba, Spice and the rest were all cool, they did not try to steal the show or anything. Just attended like fans to support Brent. I saw the Bubba Raw Cameras there and they were shooting promo stuff on the other side of the ring.
I saw Spice, he had a cap on, 25 Cent (full afro always on phone) and some others I could not name but probably from Bubba’s crew. Brent was in the corner of the gym with his wife when we came in, the camera crew and others came in later. Brent said hello to my son when he saw him in the men’s room. He was cool.
Give Brent credit for having the balls to get in shape and get out there. He was just a overmatched. I thought they might have a little hokey pokey fake stuff going on or maybe they would let Brent win for Bubba Raw. It looked totally on the level, it was the only KO of the night.
I was at the Safety Harbor Community Center with my son early. We watched them set up the ring and things started after 6 15 pm. We got there real early (5 pm) since we wanted to be sure to get seats and did not know what to expect since the place was small. Saw one guy with a Bubba Army shirt, saw Spice go shake his hand.
There were a dozen matches with a short intermission in between. A concession stand and a few tables to the side were selling black t shirts on the left when you walked in. The place got pretty crowded by the time Brent came out.
That’s the honest rundown of it. We came over from Orlando for the weekend and we were glad to have seen the fights and the Bubba gang. ” – Source jai7123, Stern Fan Network
