It has been stated that after the recent EliteXC Robbie Lawler versus Murilo Ninja Rua fight, Matt Hughes ran into the ring and started yelling / pointing his finger at Mario Yamasaki.  Apparently before the fight Mario told both fighter’s corners that if someone was knocked out, that he would stop the fight immediately.  After Ninja Rua went down, Robbie Lawler (who was cornered by Matt Hughes) dropped some serious bombs on Rua.  Hughes felt that the fight should have been ended earlier, as Yamasaki allegedly said would be the case if someone dropped.  Instead, Ninja took a lot of unnecessary damage, which set Hughes off, even though it was his fighter’s opposition.   Here’s a video of the event – not the best quality

Take a sneak peek inside the upcoming The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 6 reality show premiering on Wednesday September 19th on Spike TV in the US and Monday, September 24th on Bravo in the UK. The coaches of this season as we all know are Matt Hughes and Matt Serra who clearly dislike each out. 60 Minutes recently featured UFC / MMA on it’s show as being one of the fastest growing sport in the country.  60 Minutes talks about how the UFC has made it’s way from being banned into the sportlight.  MMA Fighters Pat Miletich, Matt Hughes and Renzo Gracie were interviewed about the sport and visited in their hometowns. Matt Hughes is visited on the Family Farm in Illinois.  Pat Miletich is visited at his school in Ohio.  The host Scott Pelley even rolls around with Miletich on the mat!

UFC Head Honcho Dana White is extremely passonated in his interview, when suggested that the UFC is more violent than other sports in the US, Dana White comes back with a strong argument about American football.  It is even mentioned that “MMA Fighters are less likely than boxer to get brain injury.” Check out the video and the article:

I love these old videos of fighters. We recently posted an old Tito Ortiz vs. Matt Hughes video.. Who even knew they fought? We additionally posted two ultra old Chuck Liddell Videos. Now here’s another Matt Hughes video from Extreme Challenge 29, back in November of 1999. Matt wins the fights with a rear naked choke.

Apparently this video was shot in July of 1999 and at a private club. Tito Ortiz appears to be much heavier than Matt Hughes, and therefore has a clear advantage. Very interesting seeing Tito Ortiz and Matt Hughes wrestle it out! Never expected to find this video.
