WWE / TNA Wrestler Kurt Angle to take on Randy Couture in an MMA Event?
Sunday, February 24th, 2008Last night I was listening to a rerun of the Ferrall Sirius Satellite Show on Howard 101 (Howard Stern’s Channel). Ferrall had WWF / WWE / TNA Wrestler Kurt Angle on the show for an interview. They discussed the Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir fight, how the audience reacted toward Brock at the event (lots of “booing” for Brock) and how Kurt Angle is making his way into MMA. Kurt stated that he was ready to make an UFC debut in 2003 as the UFC started to gain it’s popularity. Until an unfortunate Neck Injury (broken neck) resulting from competing and winning an Olympic Gold metal.
According to Kurt he will once again try his fate at an MMA bout. He announced on the show that he will take on UFC legend Randy Couture in an MMA event. He is currently training 2 days a week and will soon announce the fight details. When asked if he would fight street bad ass Chuck Zito, Kurt said that a few years ago he would, but now, he knows his limits and wouldn’t dare go up against Chuck. Does this make any sense at all? Randy Couture is one of the most well rounded fighters in the world, he’s a MMA legend and has taken down and defeated the best. Chuck Zito is a street bad ass, most likely skilled with his hands and no ground game, he has some martial arts training but has no MMA fights. But he’s willing to take on Randy? I don’t get it…
