Matt Hughes Confronts Referee Mario Yamasaki After Fight
It has been stated that after the recent EliteXC Robbie Lawler versus Murilo Ninja Rua fight, Matt Hughes ran into the ring and started yelling / pointing his finger at Mario Yamasaki. Apparently before the fight Mario told both fighter’s corners that if someone was knocked out, that he would stop the fight immediately. After Ninja Rua went down, Robbie Lawler (who was cornered by Matt Hughes) dropped some serious bombs on Rua. Hughes felt that the fight should have been ended earlier, as Yamasaki allegedly said would be the case if someone dropped. Instead, Ninja took a lot of unnecessary damage, which set Hughes off, even though it was his fighter’s opposition. Here’s a video of the event – not the best quality
