Alan Belcher Versus Kalib Starnes Added To UFC 77

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

UFC.com just announced that Alan Belcher will take on Kalib Starnes at UFC 77 on October 20th at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. The main event for that night will be the rematch fight between Anderson The Spider Silva versus Rich Franklin. Starnes versus Belcher is a fight to look forward to. Belcher has a MMA record of 10 and 3. He has fought in the UFC 4 times, winning two of his four fights. He has lost to Kendall Grove and Yushin Okami and defeated Sean Salmon and Jorge Santiago. Outside of the UFC Belcher fought Marvin Eastman in a five round fight that ended in a decision.

Kalib Starnes was a cast member of The Ultimate Fight Reality show on SpikeTV. He has two wins in the UFC, one loss to Yushin Okami (as does Belcher). Both fighters are 185 pounders and are looking to make their mark in the UFC.

The Next UFC Champion… 8 Year Old Nainoa Dung

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Could the next UFC Champion be Nainoa Dung? Maybe, but we won’t see him fight in the UFC for another 10 years… Why? Because he’s only 8 years old and the sanctioning body states that you have to be at least 18 years old to fight professional mma.

This little guy is extremely impressive for his age, something along the lines of Little Hercules (Richard Sandrak) - I’m not saying that they are… but let’s just hope that his parents are not pushing him the same way that Little Hercules was pushed into fame…

Strikeforce Fight Event Match Ups Tonight, Playboy Mansion

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Here are the official fight match ups for tonight’s first ever MMA Event at the Playboy Mansion, Strikeforce.  I’m looking forward to hearing the results of Bobby Southworth, who hasn’t fought since December of 2006 against Vernon White.  Should be a great event… but then again, a chess competition at the Playboy Mansion would be a great event as well.

  • Anthony Figueroa vs. Miguel Linares
  • Luke Stewart vs. Sam Liera
  • Eddie Millis vs. Daniel McWilliams
  • Dewey Cooper vs. Adam Smith
  • Daniel Puder vs. Richard Dalton
  • Falaniko Vitale vs. Ron Fields
  • Bobby Southworth vs. Bill Mahood
  • Matt Lee vs. Jorge Masvidal
  • Billy Evangelista vs. Clint Coronel
  • Josh Thomson vs. Adam Lynn
  • Eugene Jackson vs. Joe Riggs

UFC 78 Validation Prudential Center, NJ Tickets Go On Sale… When?

UFC 78 Validation Tickets

Buy UFC 78 Validation Tickets

Okay, so I’m setup to receive emails from UFC Fight Club. Any time a UFC event comes around, I receive emails from the UFC, including presale ticket purchases. So far no presale emails for UFC 78 in Newark New Jersey… so I’m wondering, when are these tickets going to go on sale. I’ve checked the UFC website, ticketmaster, stubhub… no tickets anywhere. This morning I’m surfing around and UFC Mania has a post stating that UFC 78 Tickets go on sale today, September 29 at noon ET for the general public. They linked to the UFC website (UFC.com) and in fact, the website states that the presale tickets have already gone on sale, and tickets for the general public will go on sale today at noon. So I follow the links to the ticketmaster site, and low and behold, UFC 77, not UFC 78 tickets. Looking around the comment a bit, I see a guy that goes by the name of Fight Club Member, he states:

“tickets don’t go on sale tomorrow…they go on-sale for fight club members starting october 2nd…there was a mistake on the website and on the ppv broadcast and that was announced on the fight club forums…you should probably take down this article”

Does anyone know what’s truly going on? I mean, the main event and under cards aren’t even scheduled, so who’s going to buy tix without even knowing the fight card… Something’s wrong here.

Anderson Silva Knocks Tony Fryklund Out With an Elbow

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Check out this video from Cage Rage 16 where Anderson Silva KO’s Tony Fryklund with an elbow.  This has to be one of the sickest KO’s… The elbow came out of no where totally surprising Fryklund.

Andre Arlovski and Patrycja (Patricia) Mikula on Jerry Springer Video Quality Is Not That Great..

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Andre Arlovski and Patricia Mikula were recently on the Jerry Springer show.  Arlovski was a “guest bouncer” for the show.  It’s crazy how mainstream mma is becoming.. I mean, I would have never thought of Arlovski being on the Springer Show.  You have to check this out, it’s too funny.  Also, check out some pics of Patricia Mikula here.
