The UFC just announced the official and final fight card for UFC 83 Matt Serra vs Georges St. Pierre.  The event will take place on Saturday, April 19th at the Bell Centre Canada, 17 days after a free display of Ultimate Fight Night Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon, airing free, Wednesday April 2nd on Spike TV from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Getting back to the UFC 83 event, the final fight card event for the UFC 83 night is:

• Travis Lutter vs. Rich Franklin
• Nate Quarry vs. Kalib Starnes
• Charles McCarthy vs. Michael Bisping

According to NBCSports.com representatives of UFC Fighter Anderson Silva an boxer Roy Jones Jr are in conversations of a possibly boxing match between Silva and Jones!  The conversations are currently in their early stages and a lot of logistics need to be worked out.  Such considerations are the rules of the bout, the ability for Anderson to step outside of his UFC contract to fight and the weight class that the two would match up at. According to NBCSports.com, “the two would probably meet at a weight between 170 (Jones’ last fight) and 185 (Silva’s weight class)”.  In addition to the agreement to be worked out among the Anderson Silva party and the UFC, as well as Anderson’s team and Jones’ team, the Nevada State Athletic Commission has their contributions to making the deal go through as well.  According to NBCSports.com, the “Nevada Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer said that the commission would have to gather information about Silva’s boxing capabilities before granting a license for such a bout.”… further stated, “There’s no question he can get licensed to box, the question is the matchup. We’d have to look at his training, his background, his history and gather the facts before a decision.”

Raw Vegas interviews Fight Girl Michelle Waterson regarding her upcoming fight against Catia Vitoria in XFA. One of the questions asked during her interview is what she’s been up to since starring on Oxygen’s Fight Girls. Michelle stated (as many of us already know) that she’s been working with Greg Jackson out in New Mexico, learning to improve her ground game. How did she feel to be apart of Fight Girls and to get that national recognition - “it was cool”. Does MMA pay the bills? No unfortunately not for Michelle, so in addition to being an professional MMA fighter, she’s also a hooters girl!

In addition to interviewing Michelle Waterson regarding her upcoming XFA fight, host Dave Farra goes up against Michelle in a sparring match. Michelle throws a few teaps at Dave, a few high kicks and overall shows who’s boss, check it out.

The Official UFC 83 website was launched today, along with the final fight card for the night. The main event will be Georges St. Pierre versus Matt Serra, dubbed, Serra vs Pierre 2. Rich Franklin, currently rocking a beard and mustache will take on Travis Lutter, Kalib Starnes is facing off with Nate “The Rock” Quarry - I’m very excited to see Nate fight again. He had an amazing comeback versus Pete Sell in their last fight. Mike Bisping is going to whoop Charles McCarthy, Mac Danzig is taking on Mark Bocek, Jason MacDonald is fighting Joe Doerksen, Alan Belcher vs Jason Day and Sam Stout vs Rich Clemente (who had an amazing fight against Melvin Guillard recently.

It looks like another MMA event will hit the new Prudential Center in Newark New Jersey.  The last time it was UFC Validation featuring Bisping vs Rashad Evans, this time it will be Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith, and Kimbo Slice versus an unknown competitor.  Sounds like a hell of a night, but guess what?  It only gets better.  EliteXC has signed a deal with CBS.  CBS will be broadcasting the MMA event live on May 31st at 9PM ET free of charge!   Wait, it gets even better, this May 31st event will be one of many.  The new program will be called “Saturday Night Fights” and rumored to fight along with the title Robbie Lawler vs Scott Smith, Gina Carano may possibly step away from the American Gladiator spotlight to get back to her roots.  This is only a rumor at the moment.

Wow, I feel like a total ass… In my last post regarding Ultimate Fight Night 13 - UFN 13 I screwed up.  Wait.. Okay , I totally f’ed up on this one… I stated that K Flow is the underdog because… I clearly have a lot to learn in the betting world and misinterpreted the + and - signs.  So here’s the correction, Lauzon is the underdog.. As Griffin and just1fix astutely point out in the comments section, the negative sign is the amount you have to bet to win $100 and the plus sign is how much you win if you bet $100… wow, I totally suck at this.  Sorry for the mixed, like I said, I’m a total newb, thanks for pointing out my mistake…

Having said that, my money is definitely on Lauzon, put down a hundie and if he wins, take home 180, sounds like a sure bet.

I’ve never been much of a betting man, but I become more interested in betting odds when UFC 82 came around. I learned a little bit about the odds and made my prediction for the night, which was on the money. So today I checked out the odds for Ultimate Fight Night 13 on Bet Us and this is what we’re looking at:

Kenny Florian vs. Joe Lauzon odds

• Florian (-220)
• Lauzon (+180)

Karo Parisyan vs. Thiago Alves odds

• Parisyan (-180)
• Alves (+150)

Spencer Fisher vs. Marcus Aurelio odds

• Fisher (-115)
• Aurelio (-115)
• Can this be right? Same odds, looks odd, no pun intended. I’m a total newb, so let me know…

Put down 180 to make 100 on Joe Lauzon? I’m pretty confident that Joe’s going to finish Kenny, this will be a great fight. If I had to make a bet of all three, I’d put my money on Lauzon for the Lauzon vs Kenny Flo fight.
