Cagepotato / Fightlinker came up with this awesome video of the post Kimbo Slice vs Sean Gannon underground fight video. For those of you who remember, it was a controversial win that Gannon took over Kimbo during their underground fight, both fighters were completely exhausted, and well, Gannon looks beat up badly in this video. For a while now, I’ve been wondering why the UFC keeps Jorge Gurgel around. He has seven fights with the UFC, 3 of them being wins, 4 losses. He’s never been able to finish a fight, all of his wins were via decision, and all of his fights with the exception of his loss to Cole Miller have gone to decision. Despite winning Fight of the Night, he’s simply not an exciting fighter and well, not impressive either. He’s suppose to be amazing with BJJ, yet he often doesn’t use it… It all doesn’t make sense.
So, after six years of boring UFC fans, Jorge Gurgel has received his release from the UFC and has been picked up by Strikeforce. In response to leaving the UFC, Gurgel states, “It’s very humiliating, and it’s a crushing of my childhood dream.”
While in Hawaii for the UFC 94 press conference between BJ Penn and Georges St. Pierre, Arianny Celeste decides to partake in a little post conference bikini photoshoot. This Thanksgiving you should be thankful for three things:
1. The digital camera.
2. The invention of Blogs, a place where Arianny can post her digital photos.
3. Dana White inviting Arianny to Hawaii for the press conference.
I wonder who was behind the camera?
Kim Couture’s first fight back in June was a crazy one. She lost her first professional fight to Kim Rose by decision in the third, but even worse, she went home with a broken jaw. Kim’s one hell of a tough girl, less than six months later, she’s back in the game. This past weekend Kim Couture added a Victory to her stats with a win over Lina Kvokov in the first round of their Strikeforce fight. Kim came out throwing some heat from the start, dirty boxes a bit and utilized the clinch, continued to pressure Lina and won the. Check out the video.
I’m totally siked about the upcoming release of UFC Undisputed 2009 to be released for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The graphics are totally insane by any game’s standards, all of the characters are on point with their personalities and the gameplay, well, it appears to be on point. So who’s to be featured in this upcoming THQ release? From the game samples that we’ve seen thus far, we know that Randy Couture, Quinton Rampage Jackson, Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell, Joe Lauzon, Antonio Nogueria and Brock Lesnar have all been apart of the demo. Some fighters that you might expect to see, but may not make the list are Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch. Why you might say? Well, as reported by Fitch on Hardcore Sports Radio, the UFC is asking their fighter to sign a lifetime contract with THQ which will allow the game developer to include the fighter’s likeliness in any future release. The dispute between Fitch and the UFC got so bad that Fitch was temporarily cut from the UFC. According to Michael Thompson of ARS, Dana White stated “Let [Fitch] go work with [Affliction]. Let him see what he thinks of those [expletives]. [Expletive] him. These guys aren’t partners with us. [Expletive] them. All of them, every last [expletive] one of them.” Less than 24 hours later, Fitch was resigned with the UFC.

Well, Arianny Celeste came close to winning the Maxim Hometown Hotties contest of 2008, she was one of the top 10 finalists, had a nice layout and one hell of a MMA fan base behind her supporting the effort. But in the end, April Rose, who showed a lot more T&A took home the prize of being called Maxim Hometown Hottie 2008. Check out the pictures of Arianny as well as her competitor April Rose.
Last night, the official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon Girl, Arianny Celeste, celebrated her 23rd birthday while hosting at MGM Grand’s premier nightclub, Studio 54 and we got some pictures from the event. The alluring beauty was joined by many of the UFC’s star fighters including Heath “Texas Crazy Horse” Herring who was the last to take on Brock Lesnar, a fighter in this weekend’s most anticipated battle versus fan-favorite Randy Couture. BJ “The Prodigy” Penn, Mac Danzig, and Matt “The Law” Lindland also partied into the early hours of the morning to kick off the highly awaited fight weekend. A big thanks from our friends over at Studio 54 for sending them in.
